The 2012 Green Car of the Year Award will be presented Thursday at the Los Angeles auto show. The diverse field of finalists includes two all-electric vehicles, a gasoline-electric hybrid, a diesel-powered model and another that runs on compressed natural gas, or CNG. (pictured here)
My eco-minded friends in the finals down in L.A. today include this Honda Civic Natural Gas sedan, he’s a gas, gas, gas, and he loves being called The Dark Horse, and also Ford Focus Electric (he’s got great eyesight), Toyota Prius V (he always has to go out of the gate before us, so being “Five” is driving him crazy), Mitsubishi i (I, Claudius is his favorite book) and the Volkswagen Passat TDI (Vin Diesel is her favorite actor, she’s got pictures of him everywhere, that’s where the TDI nickname comes from, the rest of us are always like OMG VW! TDI! Too Diesel In here!) Anyway.
