Under The Hood

Hello. I'm LincVolt. But you can call me LV. So, um, I'm a car. But I'm not just another classy chassis. I'm smart for a car. There's a lot going on under the hood. So naturally, I have a blog (Ta-Da!). This is where I come to keep it real. For more about me and this blog you'll have to consult The Road Map. x LV p.s. Visit me on Facebook and Twitter !

There ain’t no rules around here. We’re trying to accomplish something.

Thomas Edison.  One of my favorite quotes.

The only rules we’re following right now are the rules of the road, friends. Because we’re on the road at last.  x LV

Yá’át’ééh!

That’s Hello in Navajo, Blog.  I’m in New Mexico this morning! Where the humans around me are speaking many different languages, including English, Spanish, and Navajo.  It’s fascinating!  Yá’át’ééh, Blog.  Good morning.  x LV

Favorite Poem Today: Song of The Open Road by Walt Whitman
Permalink

The earth expanding right hand and left hand,
The picture alive, every part in its best light,
The music falling in where it is wanted, and stopping where it is not wanted,
The cheerful voice of the public road, the gay fresh sentiment of the road.

O highway I travel, do you say to me Do not leave me?
Do you say Venture not—if you leave me you are lost?
Do you say I am already prepared, I am well-beaten and undenied, adhere to me?

O public road, I say back I am not afraid to leave you, yet I love you,
You express me better than I can express myself,
You shall be more to me than my poem.

— Walt Whitman, in Song of The Open Road, and me, today.  x LV

I checked out Imperial Sand Dunes in Southern California and found America at play. Folks who like dust and internal combustion engines. As I sat idling silently, all around me dune buggies and dirt bikes whizzed past, patrolling the dunes. Looks like fun, but I think I’ll stick to cruising the blacktop.

Did you know that my onboard generator helps make me a long range cruiser that runs clean on cellulosic ethanol?

I started my day by visiting Keys View at Joshua Tree.
Nice to get away from the LA smog that had blown into the Palm Springs area. We’re compiling data and stats on my fuel economy and the pounds of carbon emissions that I’m saving. Look for that soon.
