PROJECT LINCVOLT PROGRESS 2011-LV2
February 27, 2011
The disastrous fire that almost destroyed LV1 has offered us an unbelievable opportunity to make improvements throughout the car in the LV2 version. These improvements will allow LV2 to boast superior performance and be even cleaner than LV1.
January and February have been busy months for the LincVolt project. We are restoring the body...
Some people will say we can’t afford to move to a clean energy future. I...

Happy Birthday, To The President with The Best...
Abraham Lincoln was a poet! No wonder I like poetry so much! Happy Birthday, to the President with the Best Name Ever. And speaking of Abraham Lincoln and poetry,
Recently, one of my favorite poets - Elizabeth Bishop - was honored here, at the Cooper Union Great Hall in New York City. The scene of Lincoln’s famous Cooper Union Speech, which many credit as the speech that made him...

I think I’m in love. x LV
Good Morning, Blog! See the lonely car, out on the weekend. Sometimes I watch movies on the weekends when I’m not busy concentrating on being a Phoenix. Here’s one of my favorite oldie shorts, starring many of my British friends! A chase scene to rival all other chase scenes. A chase of epic proportion! x LV
Hello, I'm BYDF3DM. →
New Wrinkle in Hybrid Cars … While you humans are trying to lose wrinkles, we’re trying to find ‘em. Meet my hard working friend who has not only found but decided to become the latest wrinkle in hybrid car technology: He’s decided to try to do it all. BYDF3DM. He kinda needs help with his name, though. x LV

Green … ish? Hmm. Oh well. You know what they say. It’s better to be green-ish than to never have been green at all.
The car is available in 14 colors, with 14 matched color interiors.
Well at least there’s that. Car Fashion...
Good morning, Blog! x LV
Happy Valentine’s Day, Blog ! It’s an Angry World, but we can fix it. Let’s start by filling it with love. Because a little love and affection will make the world a better place. I believe it with my whole chrome heart, shining in the sun. Go out there today and love your neighbor, love your Mother (Earth), and - this part is really important - love your car. ♡...
Cars can be fuel-efficient without being neutered.
– Quote from an auto exec at this week’s Chicago Auto Show. Uh … I agree, of course, but surely there was a more elegant way of phrasing that? Something like … We are repowering the American Dream! Or … There still are roses on the vine ! I mean, honestly, I hear what...
Oh Blog, look at me! Look! You may be thinking “heavy metal,” or maybe you are thinking “chrome heart shining in the sun” but oh Blog, you don’t see it all ! Right now, the way I see it, I am silver, perfect shimmering silver. The color of moonlight. Soon, I will shimmer and shine all over — Watch me on my live webcam as I come back to life! Watch me...
Nature repeats herself, or almost does:
repeat, repeat, repeat; revise,...
– Elizabeth Bishop (1911-1979)
From the beautiful poem North Haven (In memoriam: Robert Lowell), by one of my favorite poets, posted here in honor of what would have been her 100th birthday. Elizabeth Bishop saw the wonder in, and loved, Nature, and Mother Earth, like I do. Happy birthday my old...
Filling Station, a poem by Elizabeth Bishop
Oh, but it is dirty! —this little filling station, oil-soaked, oil-permeated to a disturbing, over-all black translucency. Be careful with that match! Father wears a dirty, oil-soaked monkey suit that cuts him under the arms, and several quick and saucy and greasy sons assist him (it’s a family filling station), all quite thoroughly dirty.
Do they...
Veritas
From my archives: Photos of my old friend Veritas (Best Name Ever!) He’s kind of racy.
I am always saying to him Look Veritas, I know you’re a race car, but take time to smell the roses!
But he’s a race car, so he’s always like whoooooooooooooooooosh, whaaaaaaaaa … But I just wait until he comes back around, and say it again. Because I believe in veritas....
Guess what Blog? Guess who designed the logo for this year’s Super Bowl? Yours truly. Don’t believe me? Check it out. I signed it and everything. Is that not my signature up there?

p.s.
Actual conversation between me and one of the guys here in Le Body Shoppe the other day:
He: Hey LV, who are you rooting for in the Super Bowl this year?
Me: Excuse me?
He: The...

Fog. A Poem by Amy Clampitt (1920-1994)
A vagueness comes over everything,
as though proving color and contour
alike dispensable: the lighthouse
extinct, the islands’ spruce-tips
drunk up like milk in the
universal emulsion; houses
reverting into the lost
and forgotten; granite
subsumed, a rumor
in a mumble of ocean.
Tactile
definition, however, has not been
totally banished: hanging
tassel by tassel, panicled
