I've Been Waiting For You
Ring Ring Ring
Pearl: Hello?
LV: Hi.
Pearl: LV! Hi. How are you?
LV: I'm okay, I guess. How are you?
Pearl: What do you mean you guess?
LV: How are you?
Pearl: I'm fine.
LV: How was Thanksgiving at the ranch?
Pearl: It was so fun! Oh. I'm sorry, LV. It really wasn't that fun. Neil seemed kind of mopey actually.
LV: Mopey?
Pearl: Yes, he seemed like he was missing something.
LV: Really?
Pearl: (laughs) Oh LV. Neil was fine. But he did seem kind of like he was missing you. We all thought so. He came into the barn a few times and hung out with us but he didn't drive any one, not even me! I knew it was because you weren't here. You know how he can be.
LV: (feelings lifting) Yes. I miss him, Pearl. It's been a week!
Pearl: Well the guys in the garage need to take holidays, LV.
LV: I know.
Pearl: I'm sure things will start right back up. Things are going so well for you LV! You're on your way.
LV: I know.
Pearl: What is that song that keeps playing over and over in the background?
LV: I've Been Waiting For You?
Pearl: Oh boy. LV, sometimes you really can be
LV: I know.
Pearl: Are you okay?
LV: Yeah.
Pearl: Stop being so melodramatic.
LV: I'm trying.
Pearl: Maybe put on a different song.
LV: Like what?
Pearl: I don't know. Like Get Behind The Wheel or something.
LV: Hmm.
Pearl: Or Harvest Moon! There is a full moon rising, you know.
LV: I listened to that all weekend.
Pearl: Oh.
LV: I think I'll just leave this one on for a while.
Pearl: I don't know how you can just listen to one song over and over and over.
LV: I can be obsessive.
Pearl: No kidding? Really?
LV: Pearl! You know how I hate sarcasm.
Pearl: Just kidding LV. You know I love you. And Neil does too. Maybe I'll come with him next time he comes down there and we can chat.
LV: Oh Pearl that would be fantastic!
Pearl: Okay, LV, see you soon.
LV: Thanks, Pearl.
Pearl: Sure LV. Go listen to your song.
LV: (laughs) I will. And I'm fine. Bye, Pearl.
Pearl: Bye, LV.
Thanksgiving Prayer, by Kathryn Kay (1941)
God, ev’ry year about this time, according to routine, I’ve bowed my head in the accepted way and offered thanks, like some well synchronized machine that prayed because it was the time to pray. But, God, this year is different, this year I seem to feel America’s Thanksgiving is my own, that in my nation’s gratitude I have a part that’s real, a part that until now I’ve never known. And, God, this...

“Quite simply, the rougher the roads in your community that you’re driving on, the quicker that vehicles are going to start falling apart…”
Gulp. Maybe I shouldn’t be in such a hurry to get back out there on the road.

Lincvolt is feeling good.
– From last Team Update about me. No, no, no, I don’t believe this song update. Feeling good? I’m feeling lonely!

OP-ED: Take Your Foot Off The Gas, America. By LincVolt Continental.
“GM, Citing Progress, Reports Loss of $1.15 Billion.” Ripped from today’s headlines, folks. I didn’t make that up. A loss of a billion dollars? That’s progress? They might want to rethink the path they’re progressing on. Now I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking that because I’m a Lincoln, part of the Ford...
P.S.
PROGRESS
Meantime, Lincvolt’s second rotary engine will be set up...
– A postscript to the latest update from the Team. I’m feeling so complete inside.
